Gas pedal

Forgive me in advance but I have completed a few searches and cannot find any photos.

My truck never came with a gas pedal, just the rod coming down, and I cannot figure out how to put the one I bought on. It's just a rod with a nub at the end. The pedal I bought didn't come with any hardware so I am unsure how it gets installed. Dose anyone have a photo of the back of the petal after its installed or advice on how to put one in?

Thanks!

Re: Gas pedal

What year is the cab?

I am sure someone will post a photo soon, I use a LMC catalog a lot for a reference.

Re: Gas pedal

the plastic or rubber pedal on the bottom has two round places which pop into two ball studs that should be screwed into the floor of your truck. The top of the pedal rests onto the rod your talking about. The two ball studs allow the pedal to move back and forth at the bottom thus pushing on the top rod which in turn actuates the throttle linkage to your carb. Maybe someone has a good picture.

Re: Gas pedal

Look at the floor of your truck. There should be two studs with round balls on top. The pedal snaps onto these balls and rest against the rod coming through the firewall. If you see two threaded holes you will need to get some ball studs.

Re: Gas pedal

If your truck is all original and hasn't been changed around it will have the small studs on the floor as mentioned above. You can buy them from vendors. Search for "Accelerator Pedal Ball Studs."

If you still need more pics let me know. I have a few.
