any fix to emblems?

I may be purchasing some emblems on ebay in about an hour, but the problem is, the tabs have been broke off, and i was wondering what the best way would be to install them on a set of fenders. I know they are diecast so wleding new pins on is not possible, but i was thinking of making new "pins" for them and attaching them with JB Weld... If that wouldnt work then i guess 3m double sided tape will have to work.. So, are there any other ways that they can be cobbed to stay on w/out double sided tape?

Honestly, 3m double sided tape would be fine. Dont go through the trouble of trying to jb weld the tabs back on.

The tabs won't hold, don't think you could even tig them back on the metal is so bad

get some GOOD double side 3M stick tape from the body shop supply store. use the kind that comes with either a red or blue backing... here we have a funny name for it and the body and paint supply stores know what we are talking about. Grape Tape. kind of has a grape koolaide smell to it.

roll it on in big sections, way larger than you need and then trim the excess off before pulling the backing off and sticking it. way easier than trying to get the thin stuff and trying to stick it neatly to the edges.

if you want to make sure the emblem is 100% where it should be you could JB weld the tabs back on to the emblem but tape the emblem to the fender using the tabs as centering and placement tabs, as mentioned above the tabs will fall off and you will lose your new emblems.

good luck.

Re: any fix to emblems?

Izzy, we have a few rolls of the red backed 3M stuff. It'll be a challenge to cut it off so it cant be seen through the gaps in the emblem. They are sierra grande 35's. I'll figure it out when the time comes. Thanks for all your help guys!
