1963 door adjustment, opening too far.
My 63 C10 drivers door opens too far and hits the fender. I saw there is a slider that goes into the door with some kind of stop. Is that adjustable so it doesn't open as far?

Re: 1963 door adjustment, opening too far.
its called a door check , and they are notorious for wearing out and falling apart on the inside of the jam...and the reason you see so many of these trucks with the dents in the door from the fender, you can either buy new ones, or you can go pull some out of a jeep Cherokee that will bolt right in, its a upgrade alot of guys do the are a better design and keep the door from opening to far..there used to be a thread in the FAQ but cant seem to find it since the FAQ has been redone...if you or some one finds the thread im talking about it has more info on what year jeep..

Re: 1963 door adjustment, opening too far.
i bought a set of door checks from Brothers for my 63 as while back. Simple install and fairly cheap, solved my issue of the doors hitting the fenders. IDK if the Jeep ones fit but it might be cheaper if they do.

Re: 1963 door adjustment, opening too far.
heres the jeep door checks link:
http://www.persh.org/pickup/DoorChecks.htm heres a thread on them also theres two different style jeep door checks both will work in this thread youll see some pictures also: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=446066 I ended up using the jeep style door checks that have a fixed metal hook at the end without the rubber stopper, because i figured the jeep style ones with the rubber stopper might fall apart eventually like the stock 60-66 door checks do... the jeep door checks have the double bump on them to hold the door half way , and fully open.....I found that the half way bump held the door closed to much and i took a grinder and removed it and only have the full open bump....one nice thing about doing the jeep door check upgrade compared to the stock 60-66 door checks is that it holds the door open so if your on a hill your door wont swing shut like the stock door checks allow since the dont have a bump just a straight piece of metal..

Re: 1963 door adjustment, opening too far.
I used the jeep back door ones, just shortened a little. they make a bang when opening the door all the way. might be better with some sound deaden-er. way better than the repo's.
