Front coil springs for a 65 with a Big Block

Hi guys,
I've done a lot of looking and searching, but I can't seem to come up with an answer to my question.
I'm putting a 454 in my 65 shortie stepside and want to know what springs to use on the front end.
I'm upgrading to a 73-87 disc brake front end, and may/may not run lowered spindles.

Help please!

Early classic Enterprises lists a set of Big block springs...

Thats what I purchased. They sell a set of BBC springs for the 60-66, but I believe the part # was the same as the 3/4ton springs.

You can use '67-72 C 10 front coils for a BBC, since that is an engine option for those years.

Re: Front coil springs for a 65 with a Big Block

I think I ordered Moog 6102 for the BBC in the 63-66. The Moog 6104 is the 67-72 BBC front coil spring. I can verify the part # in a few hours when I'm home. I looked up the Moog 6102 and it shows for c20-c30 63-66. So I believe this is correct for the BBC in a 63-66 due to the extra weight.

Re: Front coil springs for a 65 with a Big Block

I've been told that the GMC runs a heavier spring due to the weight of the V6. If you want to drive over and pick them up, I just took a set out of my ‘66....

Hey 1963 C-10,
I am an auto parts guy and had a complete brain fart on looking at moog for springs!
Oh well, what can I say? Sometimes it's hard to think OUTside the box, although I'm usually waay out there, like in a different warehouse even!
