65 C20 not starting

Hey guys, new to the forum been lurking around for a few weeks getting some ideas for my C20 build. Im getting ready to start the build soon and went to try to start it a few weeks ago but couldnt get it to fire. Got some starting fluid and it fired right up only to die a few seconds later. After a little fiddling with it i removed the fuel line going right into the carb and had no fuel coming out. Any ideas on what this could be? or maybe even a temp cheap fix, just need to be able to move it a tiny bit nothing far or a long ways. Thanks in advance for your time.

BTW- inline 6 motor.

Also just noticed i was in the wrong section when posting. Mods please move to appropriate section, please/thank you.

Disconnect line at pump inlet and determine if tank/line/filter is plugged.
Fuel pump diaphragms rot over time; so test pump as well.

I agree, check condition of inside tank & lines and a new fuel pump...bout $30, should do the trick. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the rubber fuel lines and filters also.

disconect line going to fuel pump, use gas can and try it. this will tell you if your tank, fuel line are clogged. if that does'nt work it could be youre fuel pump

Re: 65 C20 not starting

Hey guys sorry for the very late reply, was able to get the truck running. Pulled the carb apart and found the bowl dry and a float was stuck closed not allowing fuel in; however of course after i get it running and about to start fixing it up my job comes down and tells me I have to move to Miami from Seattle. so I now have to put the truck up for sale. so if anyone is interest it is available. I just need to figure out how to post it to the classified section. Maybe once i get to Miami I can find another one to work on.
