Driveshaft and slip yoke 700r4
Im 20 years old and bought a 1979 c10 with a 305 and 700r4, trying to fix it up by getting the 383 stroker next year and now got a 700r4 tranns. Im tring to get to pass emissions first but this problem came up:
So as I was driving down the freeway I was going like 50-55 mph, I was noticing a noise and my truck was shaking, this has happend before but I needed to get to work. Anyways, as I was driving down the road I heard a loud noise. My truck just stop and I got down to see what was it. My driveshaft was on the floor still connected to the differential but disconnected from the transmission tail. My tail housing was in pieces and the slip yoke was disconnected. I recently got a used driveshaft and differential, U-Joints and tail housing with the seal. I searched all over the place but couldnt find the slip yoke, where can I find it? I know I'm missing the speed sensor but my question is what else do I got to get before I can start to put it back together. The auto shops werent very helpful. Thanks. Re: Driveshaft and slip yoke 700r4
the yoke off aTH350 should work, the one on the used drive shaft should be fine.

Re: Driveshaft and slip yoke 700r4
Turbo 350, powerglide, M21 muncie, any pass. car saginaw 3 speed, T56, T5, any year camaro from 1967-97 all use the same output shaft spline.
Just about any GM car trans except turbo400 or M22 muncie is the same. Or as stated, use your old one if it wasn't damaged. Next time you feel a vibration or noise like that STOP as soon as posssible. Someone could have been hurt badly Almost forgot..... to the board!
