1968 Chevy c20 3/4 Ton questions.

Hey guys,
Im currently in Afghanistan and I'm trying to think of fun stuff to do to my truck.

I took the bed off and sandblasted it and got a first coat of primer on it before I had deployed. Replaced all ball joints, tie rod ends, and brake lines.

Im really looking into putting a 2-4 inch lift and with the setup I have with the rear coils.

My question is what good lift kits would work with this truck with leaf springs all around? I live out in the woods and this will be my fun semi mudding truck.

Please help, I want to start this project as soon as I get home.

You might be able to lift it with keeping the coils. There are load leveler-type air bags that fit inside the rear coils. Airlift and Firestone make them. You can bring it up with those,but the more air the stiffer the ride (when empty). Not sure you could find an application you could use up front. There are members who have raise their C/20s to about stock 4wd height but not sure exactly what the did. Lift spindles are made for 88-98 C-series by Fab-Tech and I believe there's ways to use those on these trucks.

Thats my fault, I misused my words.

I meant to say and ask....What would be a good lift kit that is all leaf springs that would be a good fit for my truck. Im having a hard time with research in trying to find the right fit for my truck. I just need a good 2-4 lift that still is comfortable enough to have fun in the woods with.

I saw you mention leaf springs but thought it was a typo/mistake. There is no leaf spring "lift kit" for a C/20 with coils all around. You would have to do your own fabrication to achieve your goal. You already rebuilt your independent suspension. All that goes out the window if you want leafs. The only leaf suspensions on front were 4wds. You'd have to put in a solid beam axle from '59-bck or source one from a Dodge up to '71 or make something up from tube,like a gasser front end. On the real you could go through the labor of converting to the factory leafs by swapping all necessary parts. Personally,I'd scrap the leaf idea and lift the coil suspension you have

Is there anything out there that offers around a 4" lift and keeps the coils? I'm not aware of any lift spindles for the front or how you could lift the back. If this is getting too off track of the OP's original question I apologize, I can start a new thread if needed.
