Radiator Cleanout
Anyone have any tips on flushing out my radiator? Truck has sat for a couple of years. I am sure there is something I need to do the radiator.

Flushing
If it's been setting a couple of years I would pull it and do a really good washing out, and let all the water lines drain good. You don't want to take the chance of breaking something loose and it clog up the passages in the motor. That's me anyway.

You can have it rodded out. That would be the best way to clean it out if it is really dirty. I did mine myself. Propane torch and a roll of solder and 1/16" x 1/8 flat bar. Took me a day to do it.

prestone sells a T that u unstall into one of your heater hoses
pop the elbow spout into the rad. cap hole (included) turn on the hose...start the truck.....run till clear..... |

One problem with the tee, it won't backflush the radiator completely. Best way is to remove the radiator and stand it upside down. Run the hose in the outlet and let the junk flow out the filler neck and inlet hose. While I have it apart, I remove the thermostat and hook the garden hose to the heater hose. Flush forward through the thermostat, then put the hose in the thermostat hole and let it run backwards.
