Good clutch linkage lube that won't drip all over new carpet??

I use to just spray everything down with WD40, but now I painted the interior and have new carpet. Is there anything I can use to lube up the clutch linkage with that won't drip or get all over the place? Last time I protected the area with some plastic sheeting and sprayed with a dry lube. Worked great for about 4 days. The squeaking is back and I don't think dry lube is the answer…..

Are you sure the nylon bushings are not destroyed or missing in the tube that the clutch pedal arm is attached to (The pivot point for the brake and clutch pedals)?

The one in the link above is for the brake pedal tube. They show another part number in the footnote for the clutch bushings.

The things I have learned recently about WD-40 would make you buy something else.. My copier repair guy uses that to "clean" rubber rollers that pick up the paper.. Who would have thought that? He also uses it to clean stuff too..

Now for a better lubricant, I would suggest a graphite powder. Its great for door locks and other small tasks.. You would need something to catch excess when you apply it, but I would think it would stay put after that and last a while.

I should have also mentioned that I used Sta-lube "Super White Grease" in a tube to assemble all of the linkage. It's been a year since I put it all together no drips... I also live in Phoenix where it gets VERY hot...
