Im putting togather my own book about my truck cause it seems nothing is origanal. If anybobod could fill in the blanks or tell me what the abreviations mean that would be great. Sorry cap locks is on and dont have time to re-write cause work is over lol

You have that broken up a little awkwardly...
From FY to APPL:
"1981" applies to (FY) "305" applies to (CID) "Conv. Cab, M/T, A.I.R." applies to (APPL) "H LE9" applies to (VIN, the H is 8th VIN digit, LE9 is RPO for the 305) "150" applies to (HP) "4" applies to (BBLS, means 4 bbl carburetor)

Conv. Cab, means conventional cab, as opposed to chassis cab
A.I.R. is Air Injection Reaction, means it has a "smog pump", it is an emissions classification.

You trying to make a new BOOK for your truck or a new sticker like those found in the glove box?

I had a johnny cash blazer, it was everything from 73-91. as i was building it and modifying every last part of it i did something probably a little overboard.

keep in mind it was before computers were so prominent in everybodys life.

The VIN was a 78 blazer, every part that i changed from original, the package was saved, copied in the xerox machine and then the numbers were cross referenced with NAPA parts and in some or many cases DEALER part numbers. in many cases the part numbers would span many years so i would note those as well. If you have ever seen one, my binder was very similar to a military maintenance manual.

Each part had its own dedicated page in a binder. this made for a 2 inch thick binder of pages of parts, but in the end i could flip to a part and call the local part store and order a new one fairly easily.

I still have the binder somewhere i think next time i am out at my grandparents ranch i will look for it. when i sold the blazer the new owner didnt want the binder because he thought it was a joke. I have started something similar with my nissan truck and now my 86.

I know this is not exactly what you were asking but just a (maybe) helpful note of my past experiences.

That's cool. That is pretty much my idea. I know nothing about working on trucks so that why im getting as much info as possible and researching as much as possible. Im putting a binder together with different sections separated with clear dividers that im putting diagrams of each category. Im really enjoying it. I always watched my grand dad work on his old cars and he passed away 2 weeks ago so im more determined then ever to teach myself and learn as much as I can
