lolo33, Thank you for your support. The people down there are hurting for sure. I always think I would like to go help them but I would probably just be in the way. LockDoc

Re: irrelevant
Thanks, I guess we went global with that one I work just south of the damage path and was watching live coverage from our safe place at work. It is unreal the damage it did.. I have driven through on I35 a couple times to and from work and have seen some of the damage and wow it is crazy. Every road leading into that area is barracaded by police and only residents, construction crews and pre approved volunteer agencies are allowed entry. everyone wants to help but there are strict rules in place to keep lookie loos away. We have a storm shelter at home after years of my wife pleading for one and being a father now I am glad we have one. Our city (mustang, Ok) typically does not see tornados but then again there is nothing typical about a tornado. We had a small one come within a mile of our house two years ago while we slept. We had several employees lose their homes and one lost a wife in the tornado. Scary stuff for sure.

Re: irrelevant
We're headed out there from Va next weekend. I'm originally from there, so it's going to be an emotional scene I'm sure. Luckily my hometown was spared, but I have friends and family that live in Moore who lost everything. So sad....

Re: irrelevant
Here is a pic I took on the way home from work. This was a neighborhood now reduced to a pile of scrap wood and garbage. I work in Norman, More like on the border between Norman and Moore. There was also significant tornados out east but they don't get much coverage since this happened the day after.

Re: irrelevant
I think the last I heard this was an F4 tornado. 160 to 200 mph winds. Not much above ground that can withstand those winds. I saw one woman in her 90's say this is the second time her home was destroyed on the same spot. She lost her home in the 99 tornado also.

Re: irrelevant
They "upgraded"? It's been made as a F5.The destruction is terrible.Luckily the family I have in the area was spared the worst of it.They have some minor)Compared to others) property damge But no injury and they were close enough to watch the upper parts of it.
