undercoat ideas
Just finished blasting all the crap off underneath my 65. Wanting to know everyones ideas/thoughts on undercoating/rustproofing/paint???
Keep in mind I want the benefits of sound deadening as well. Thanks in advance.

I'm planning on using lizard skin coating. There's a few builds on here using this product and looks great and will do what you're looking for. They also offer a ceramic heat resistant coating. Check it out.

I planned on putting bedliner on all of my undersides after shooting it with DP90. Anything that can get hit with a rock is getting bedliner on it.
Disclaimer: I'm no pro and this is just info I've gotten from other builds.

Ive used this stuff called stutz or something. its like a bed liner and is applied with their gun.sprays out nice.then I used dynamat on the inside.

I like epoxy primer. Good protection in shaded applications. Easy to repair.
I hate removing bed liner and thick under coat. |

From my experience U-Pol Raptor bedliner obsoletes everything else. It is comparitively inexpensive, easy to apply, and extremely durable.

I used the 3M Body Schutz this time around on the underside of my cab and inner fenders. It's the third time I've used it (previous two times were customer requests on the backsides of various panels I fabricated), and it is really easy to work with and use.

Epoxy first, then add undercoating/sound deadener. I like Lizzard Skin. You can also mix up a batch of cavity wax and spray around all the seams and inner channels for extra rust protection.

Definately bedliner. I had a friend who used to own one of these shops, and had him do the underside of my hood, and the gas tank on my old 65 Chevy II. He used the "leftovers" from different jobs, called "slag". It all comes out black so it should work for your truck(s), and it was cheap.
