Can somebody give me infomation and/or opinions on this engine.

What year? The 9C1 350 could have been an LG4, an LO5, or an LT1. Yes, I can tell you about them all.

It's a 94 so I believe it's an LT1

Yes, it will be an LT1, if it's a 350. Be careful, though: the stock Caprice (even 9C1) engine was option L99, a 4.3L engine that looks identical to the LT1. If you are pulling it from the car, look at the SPID sticker on the trunk for LT1 or L99. LT1 is 260hp, 335ft-lbs tq. The L99 is only 200hp. LT1 cars got stock dual exhaust, L99 single.

The LT1 has iron heads (instead of aluminum on the F or Y body), and a small cam, specific for low end torque (Caprice weighs about 4200lbs). It really responds to a better cam (and rockers/springs to match), and headers.

They are great engines. Reliable, and make decent power. The PCM is flash memory, not chips, and can be tuned with your laptop by simply buying an OBD1-USB cable. Easy to tune for mileage, power, or towing.

I installed the 96 version of the LT1 cop car engine in my truck. Love the fuel injection and the torque of these engines. Runs so good.
