Angry Marker light Moulding

Got some 72 marker lights a few years ago with the little chrome moulding on it,noticed the other day 1 of the chrome pieces was gone. Was washing the truck last night and another 1 came off, gotta love the China crapThe truck shop sells these pieces but they are out of stock, any way what kind of glue do I use to glue these on when and if I can find them?

Gorilla Glue makes some good plastic glues. I'd try that.

Also, you may want to just put the standard markers on your truck. That might be what your truck came with anyway. They are less fancy, and more robust

Re: Marker light Moulding

An epoxy would work great. Just make sure the mating surfaces are roughed up and clean so the metal will stick to the plastic. I got rid of my deluxe marker lights for a set of van side markers. Its beveled flat plastic that gives a stock, yet custom appearance. A board search will yield a lot of results on the subject.

Re: Marker light Moulding

I had the same problem, one of mine fell off after sitting in the rain. I would pry the rest of them off, they come off very easy. I used a thin layer of clear silicone and then took blue masking tape and wrapped it around the marker to hold the rings in place until the silicone took hold.

Gorilla glue holds great, but it has always foamed up and expanded as it dries when I have tried it.

Gorilla makes a good two part epoxy that I've had good luck with using on everything from weather stripping to plastic on my grille

I agree with Scott. Find some originals and clean them up. The parts board on here always has someone selling these types of things.

Re: Marker light Moulding

RP 4000 is some of the baddest adhesive around. I'm looking for 1 trim ring too. Anybody?
