Re: American TT or Steelies?
I'm a huge fan of the original style Torq Thrust wheels with the peaked spokes, but since these are the newer style and I'm also a huge fan of steel wheels with the small caps they get my vote.

Re: American TT or Steelies?
steelies all day long
one of the reasons i like driving a truck like this is because its something different and american racing torque thrust wheels ARE NOT something different nearly half the vehicles that i see that are pre 1990 have TTs or coys or knockoffs and they have just become overdone it pretty bad that you would have to use stock type wheels to stand out |

Re: American TT or Steelies?
I like them both, stock look and a hot rod look. I think i would color match the centers of the americans to match the black in the side mouldings of your truck.

Torque Thrusts (and the like) are seen on a lot of classic vehicles because they are a timeless look that has yet to go out of style. The first AR TT was the series 309 made in 1956. In my opinion, a nice truck form this generation will always stand out no matter what wheels you are running. If YOU dont like a particular style or size of wheels that's fine, dont run them on your rides. But dont get on here and run down what other people like on their trucks. (With extremely exaggerated numbers) There is no such thing as "overdone". If a person like a truck done a particular way, then they shouldn't worry about how many others have done it that way before them. To the original poster, I think they both look great. I would keep both sets just to be able to change up the look if I felt like it.

Re: American TT or Steelies?
The Torque Thrusts... only lose the white letters. The TT's make the truck muscular.
My 2 cents. POP

Re: American TT or Steelies?
They both look great! Just to put the tt's on an even field , lets try no white letters. That's gonna be a tough choice!

Re: American TT or Steelies?
I like the steelies. The tt's I think would stand out more in the larger modern trend but look dated now. I'm going to redo my steelies to switch stuff up every once in a while and run 20" knockoff tt's now (oldskool gunmetals)

Re: American TT or Steelies?
So many people dig the Torque Thrusts on mid-60s-72 vehicles for a good reason. If you are after a more aggressive performance look they are the ticket. The wide steelies,as someone mentioned, are the incognito look. Tough but subtle. They make you take a second look and leave you wondering if it's a baddass truck or not. They are the "required to run the wider rubber and nothing more" look. I have always run wide steelies and have run custom wheels very little. My '67 will have both according to my mood. 8" steelies all around with matching tires road trips and 8/10 TTIIs with drag radials on the rear local

Re: American TT or Steelies?
Well we do all have opinions and all and to me Lee changed this truck from a muscle looking truck to a pawpaws truck with just the wheel change to steels. If that's the look one is after that's great. I'm just saying. IMO

Steelies all the way,and your truck could tow my car on a trailer any time and would look killer as a combo.

How wide are your TT's?
And are they 17's or 15's? Thanx Dano

No, that's how they came. Gray centers with polished lip.
