CPP c-notch mounting?
I have the hole cut and the notch lined up, but I bought the notch from a buddy and it did not come with instructions, so I am unsure about a couple things. The main thing is, does the shock crossmember go between the frame and the notch, or outside, and is it a good idea to weld it in and box the frame there?

Justin, I just looked at your build and the c-notch install. You did a nice job on the notch, the brace you took out is where your shocks will mount to. You can weld the notch in along with bolting it to the frame also for the extra strength.

Thanks! So does the shock crossmember go under or over the notch? Oor is it up to me? I know stock it was under the frame.

Something to think about while you have it out. U want the shock to be almost straight up and down when done. I would suggest the No limit shock relocator. I bought it for my 71 and the truck rides great.
Are make you a set if you can cut and weld.

I have been drooling over that kit for a while, unfortunately shipping woulbe crazy so I will probably make my own. They may stay inboard of the frame, however.

The crossmember is supposed to mount over, so some trimming would be required. I ended up building a custom crossmember anyways, so it doesn't matter. I'm sure it would be fine either way, though. 3/16" really isn't that big of a deal, especially if you want to strengthen the notch by welding it in.
