Stripped thread on manifold

Ok I wrenched a little to hard . I need to know the best way to deal with a totally striped thread on my manifold. This is the one that holds down the distributor. It is a edelbrock manifold. Any thoughts?

Thanks

tap it and put in a bigger bolt? or use one of those heli coil things

Not sure if either will work, as I don't know what bolt you are referring to... (I haven't seen my truck in ages. )

Helicoil probably better, don't know if there's enough room for a bigger bolt head there.

Get some steel epoxy and then get a stud the right size . Coat stud and hole with epoxy. Insert. Let cure. Use nut on stud to hold clamp--back in business.

Measure one of the other bolts and measure the thickness of the manifold and do some math.

Helicoil is the way to go. You'll have stronger threads than when the manifold was new. If you get the Helicoil kit,it usually includes a tap, helicoils and an installation tool. This is a permanent fix. You will need a 3/8-16 size. If you need a drill bit, it requires a 25/64"

I have no clue how deep to re thread it. I would just measure the existing bolt and go from there.

Ok update time:
I have spoken to Heli Coil and I have purchased a 7/16 kit for this. Should be here in 2 days since the retailer is local to me. I will update the thread once I have installed it. Hope it works. I like my distributor to stay in place.
