6cyl number by distributor
guys, I have searched many web sites for decoding the stamped number by the distributor on my 1966 c20 with 6cyl. they all seem to be for v8 engines. the number is f0422tcd. can anyone help? thanks Lowell

Here is a good site for these codes. Looking at it, are you sure it's tcd as there are not listed with tcd.

TCD Suffix shows up as a 1973 307 V8, might want to recheck the numbers ?

TCD comes up 1971 250 with manual trans out of C 10 or C20

I agree with factorystock. The LMC catalog also agrees. 250ci from a 71 or 72 truck.

Thanks gents, factorystock, where did you come up with 1971 250cid? the number is stamped very clear. you could be correct. I bought this truck from original owners auction. It has always been shedded. It has the usual small farm dents and scratches.I bought it because of the 8ft dump bed with wooden grain sides and stockracks. It is a 66 c20. I'm going to put it to work. Will try to get pictures. Lowell

Great !! glad you could find it. It did not show up in my Chevrolet 1946-1972 light truck parts book so I looked in the 1973 up parts book, that's where it shows up as 1973 307 ? Odd ???
