Re: New to the Board

Very nice truck you have there. I would keep an eye on the parts board here and local salvage yards to get parts. I know it is challenging but I prefer used GM parts over aftermarket parts. I know there are some cases where you have to use aftermarket but I always take time to make sure I can get a good used part first.

Have fun, you are in the right spot here.

Correct me if I am wrong on this, anyone!!
All I know is that this truck used to be a long bed and was cut down. The whole thing has a poor overcoat of white paint but you can tell the cab and the bed were two different colors previously. This bed could have come from almost anything. I just thought that bracket would be a good place to remount the fuel filler.

Re: New to the Board

Yeah, absolutely .. that's what I thought it may be for (?) I had never seen one. I say leave it. From what I can tell, it's pretty rare to see one.

Nothing wrong with a cut down LWB, people are doing it now a lot. Was the bed cut down too? .. maybe they used an actual SWB fleet bed and just cut the frame down?

Either way, doesn't make the truck any less cool IMO. It's yours, drive it and enjoy it.
