Radiator Question
My radiator got a large hole in it the other day and I am looking at replacing it.
Autozone here sells one that is supposed to be a stock replacement for my truck. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...6849_266534_0_ I got to looking though and found this one on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/190847686059...torefresh=true Here is my question though as I dont know too much about the real differences in radiators. First.....is the second radiator better than the autozone one and will it work in my truck? The ebay listing says its a direct replacement for my truck also. Its a tad bit cheaper and has free shipping so if it is in fact a better one I may just go with that. Thank you in advance for any info |

Re: Radiator Question
Any good local radiator shop will be able to repair (or re-core) your original....

Re: Radiator Question
Depends....Autozone, Advance and Orellies all sell very similar radiators for 60-66 C10s but they are the larger V8 size though listed for the I6 as well. That said....if you have the I6 radiator, the larger V8 size for sale as a suitable replacement won't fit w/o the v8 top clamp, V8 lower clamps, V8 rubbers, and v8 hoses (V8s are 1.75" top and bottom outlets while the I6 uses 1.75" lower and 1.5" uppers), also need the V8 airdams/sheet metal.
So, do you have the I6 or V8? If V8 I used the Advance Auto Radiator, internet code P20 usually gets you 20% off and free shipping bringing the delivered to your door price around $190 for a new brass tank, 3 tube V8 radiator that is pretty close in looks to the original Harrison. As for I6 radiator, I never found one anywhere new.....Ya see, about 66ish they started using the V8 rad on the large 6s and I think that's why you can only get one size these days. |

Re: Radiator Question
Okay. The Radiator from Advance auto should be a very close bolt in. The differences I noted were mostly cosmetic. But it has 3 tubes instead of 2. It comes with a trans cooler and you'll have to notch the DS lower mount to clearance for the trans cooler line fitting.

Read about the advantages of each over the other--seems like the 2-core Champions have the overall advantage. Even price, iirc, was favorable on the 2-row. And it looks so "cool". Customers have been happy with both--altho' they only saw the one(s) they ordered. HTH, Sam |

Re: Radiator Question
Thanks for the info. I don't know much about radiators. I needed a replacement and liked the looks of the ebay one so I ordered it and will give it a shot. Maybe it will be worth it.

Re: Radiator Question
I have seen some decent all alum rads on ebay for around $160. No fans, no oil coolers, just a rad.
Something like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allan-1963-1...4e43eb&vxp=mtr I was looking at this one from ebay.. YOu may want to contact them about your year of truck.. I talked to these guys when I was shopping around.. They will add anything you need, coolers or fans. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-1962-C1...61003297732%26
