Re: trailing arms
Since you still want some twisting action of the arm, I would not fully weld the seams but stitch it. Here is what I did, top and bottom.
I also reenforced the front bushing area.

Re: trailing arms
I suppose it's worth noting that if you just burn in and weld the entire thing in one pass it'll warp.
I was checking out my arms coming up with a plan to bag my truck. I'll likely hit em in a couple places like these guys did. |

Re: trailing arms
I just got these from Porterbuilt. 1/2" to 1"+ longer to help center axle in wheel well, 1" drop built in.

Re: trailing arms
I got mine tax and shipped $639, the standard ones are $499 1" or 3" built in. Now there is a "new" '62 pattern I am sure the price will settle.
RockTonka Like the arms. I just did the top and bottom never thought of the sides. Looks like a "pre-runner" desert truck.

Re: trailing arms
Redid mine a month or so ago... cut out the bad and welded in new 1/8 inch plate on the vertical part of each arm. Drilled out rivets and used 9/16 and 1/2 inch bolts. I don't plan on drag racing, more of the home depot type trips. Not exactly stock but looks very stock to the occasional observer.
