Shifter knob
I cant get the knob off of my 1986 auto. trans. shift lever. I thought it was threaded but it wont turn. Before I break out the 18" pipe wrench with cheater bar, does any one know if it is threaded or glued?

Re: Shifter knob
As I recall it is pressed straight on. The end of the shift lever is not threaded, it has slight splines cut into it. If yours ever came off before a P.O. might have glued it on. I would try to twist it either way and pull straight off. I would not spin it very much as I have seen the inside of knobs get chewed up and not stay on at all.
