Horn?
Hey new guy here again. I spent the day working on my '52 half-ton. I installed a new gas gauge sending unit and vent cowl gasket. I also got the old girl up to 65 mph!!! Whew!!!
Now, the next thing I must do is install a horn. There is no horn on my truck. Previous owner removed it. So, I need a 6V horn. Not choosy as far as originality is concerned, but I need something that will make noise on 6V. I have looked at some of the major suppliers, but everything seems to be 12V. Any ideas? daveboy |

Re: Horn?
I think old 6v vw horns are repoped, if you can stand the tone. I do not know what applying 6v to a 12 horn will do or sound like, I don't think it would hurt the horn just might sound like a bleating sheep. Ebay has a bunch or 6v auto horns starting at about $20 plus shipping.

Re: Horn?
There should be plenty of six volt horns floating around if you hunt a bit either at wrecking yards, ebay or swapmeets. Once again I have to agree With Orrie as you want a horn with a good sound and not one that sounds like a bleating sheep or squawking seagull. Some of the older luxury cars had great sounding horns back in the day of 6 volts.

Re: Horn?
Try e-mailing this guy in AZ. He has a lot of AD truck parts. I just picked up a spare tire sling for my '50 3600. Joe is pretty helpful and the prices are not bad. He is a pretty straight up guy.
