where to buy 1/2" power brake vacuum hose?
Guys
The 5.3 vacuum port for the power brakes is 1/2" ID. Im having a heck of a time finding this hose anywhere. Where are you guys getting it? Im trying a few experiments to adapt the 1/2" nipple down to 3/8" too but if that doesnt work, im gonna need that hose. Not even these semi truck parts guys have this stuff!!!! thanks |

I used the stock hose of the avalanche that the 5.3 came out of.

Try this I used the stock hose then I took teflon tape and wraped the check valve on the booster to build up the diameter. Made it a little larger than 1/2" the just slipped the hose over and used a factory spring clamp over the teflon area. Been running it this way for a while now with no problems.

Brake and Vacuum hose part #s for goodyear. The 1/2" is midway on the page.

Re: where to buy 1/2" power brake vacuum hose?
i have called everyone around me to get either than good year hose or gates 27211 and no one stocks it and wants me to buy 50 feet if they special order it for me.
I rigged up something by modifying my old hydroboost intake plug to fit the inside of a pvc valve i had to step down to 3/8th. it seems to hold vacuum. i may run that or i might try to find an oem 1/2" hose from one of these trucks and modify that. |

Re: where to buy 1/2" power brake vacuum hose?
I'm assuming you still have that plug in the back of the intake because the motor had hydro boost. Go to your dealer and get this along with a factory booster hose. I used 06 Tahoe since that's what my motor came out of the bends were perfect. Then do what I posted earlier its real simple don't make it harder on your self with all the adapters. Been driving my conversion for a year now with no leaks. Disregard the extra writing on the photo.
