Temporary frame for bed assembly

This is what I put together to assemble my bed and then paint it. Hope it works like I am planning on.

Re: Temporary frame for bed assembly

I didn't have a spare frame. But I did get it put together. But anybody have any ideas on the best way to square it up. I tried the tape measure, close but not happy. Tried framing square. But still not happy. I did not want to tighten all the bolts until its correct. Or am I wasting my time untill its on the truck. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

Getting ready to do this myself. You hang those sides by yourself? I figure I'm gonna need a couple extra hands. Good idea on the frame work.

Re: Temporary frame for bed assembly

I'm thinking mounting on the truck will line up most of the bolt holes and be pretty close? That was my plan...

Yes I did if you look close you can see big nuts welded on the frame. Once I set the bed side in place I used straps to hold the from falling backwards and used visegrips to hold the bottom once I had them stood up.

I am kind of anal when doing things. I will let it set until I fugure it out to get it right. That's why it has taken 3 years to get this far.
