VIN Number Decoding and Schematic Help

Hey guys. I've got a 79 C10 shortbed and I need help decoding the VIN. I tried the VIN decoding tool on this site, but it's not working on my end for some reason. The VIN is CCU149F492801. Any help will be much appreciated. My Daughter and I are restoring this truck, and I just want to know what version of the C10 it is. Also, does anybody have any complete electrical schematics that they can scan. I have to completely re-wire this truck and the Haynes manual pretty much sucks. Thanks in advance!

Here's another version for you to cross reference -

http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vi.../vincard79.pdf (page 2 for trucks).

These are the ones we used to carry around in our pockets at work, back in the day.

Agree; 492801 is the sequential build number.

If your truck was built after June 11, 1979 - I might have built it!

Re: VIN Number Decoding and Schematic Help

Thanks guys! Very much appreciated! Good info. for sure. Didn't realize that this was originally equipped with a 305. It's got a 350 now. Now, if I can just get electrical schematics, I'll be set for a minute. You guys RULE!! So much to do...
