front fender to running board gap

1953 Chevy pickup 1/2 ton.
two part question if I may?
One, does any one have the gap measurement at the front fender just in front of the running board? maybe a picture instead with a ruler.( I assume that there is at least a little gap between the fender and the running board)
Two, does anyone have experience with reproduction running boards, specifically, does the front curve match pretty closely to the original fender curve, or do they need to be "adjusted" ?
I am just starting the repairs to the fender lower rear flange area and the old fenders were pretty rusted, to the point that a true dimension is difficult to determine.
Thanks
