Raised gas tank

Wasnt really sure where this should go, but i figured the bagged guys would have experience with this. i moved my tank up above the frame and on 1" spacers, now obviously my tank filler doesnt line up. i cut those tabs off so that i could slide the hose on more of the filler tubes, so in this pic the filler neck and tank neck are actually about 1-2" apart, so the actual hose being "used" isnt as long as it looks. would mounting the hose like this (the angle of it really) cause any fill problems...or back flow?

Re: Raised gas tank

Yea Kevin I don't see that working very good man. If you must fill it from the outside of the truck then raise your filler hole. Hogan hot rods makes some really nice ones. If not then you can fill it from within your truck when you build the rear floor.

Re: Raised gas tank

As for gas fillers look up boating supplies. They have some nice designs, and a few different angles to choose from.

I thought about putting a pair on my bed rail so I can fill it up from either end. That is when I do my blazer tank install.

Re: Raised gas tank

Heres what i ended up with....The hole to the actual tank is inline, but the bend the metal filler still makes it an angle. It fills fine, but i just dont like the bend

Re: Raised gas tank

Not as cool as that pop up cap..i wouldve loved to do that one. For some reason i like the look of the stock cap, so i chose to move it up a few inches and forward about an inch.
