new carb ideas
im looking for a new carb. really thinking about an edelbrock 600, with vacuum secs and electric choke. need 2 know of these thigns are any good, adn whether er not theyneed a lot of screwing around to make them run right. any pros/cons, or ideas for other carbs are much appreciated.

I've had very good luck with Barry Grant's Demon carb line. Always work very well out of the box and they come with great instructions, including a "how to" video. They have many applications from small displacement street motors to all out big cube race motors. They are also very good looking carbs........Just my 2 cents!

Go with the Edlebrock... Great out of the box performance and they are a set and forget it carbs......

i bolted my on right out of the box,and i have never adjusted it.runs smooth.also i liked it because there isnt any gaskets on the bottom end

I've put the same 600 CFM, electric choke Edelbrocks on a 1970 Nova, 1969 C10, and a 1971 C10 all with 350 cu in engines. The result? They're all working without a hitch!

I've had my Carter (now Edelbrock) for 10 years or so. Once I got it tuned with the right rod/jet combination I havn't had to touch it, except for an occasional preventative maintainance cleaning.
You should keep you carbs clean to prevent wear and tear where the linkages come thru the carb. Vacuum leaks suck, literally.

i was wondering about this myself as i would like to go with an aftermarket intake and carb and stick my 4bbl on the 72 that has a crappy 2bbl on it.
