I saw your truck on eBay. Loosing interest or moving on to something else?

Hey there. Wanting/needing something a little more old man friendly. Too much cam, too much converter, no air,, on and on. Just kind of feeling the market out right now. Would really like a nicer one,, not such a hot rod.

It shouldn't be hard to find a buyer. It's a nice truck. Good luck.

Good luck with the sale. I understand the desire for a little creature comfort.

I am changing the direction of my stepside project to include power brakes, power steering, power windows & locks, a stereo and some carpet & sound deadening plus EFI and overdrive. I just can't go back to driving a bare bones old truck

Doesn't look like it is going to sell. Started doing inventory of parts we have in the shop to build a MILD small block. If nothing else, we have had some interesting phone calls form "prospective buyers" and some generous offers of less than half of what we are askiing for it.

Keeping it.. Dear god, I have had some winners trying to buy it. Had the brakes fixed again, going to get a 3310 holley or 750 Edelbrock put on and just drive the piss out of it. Seems like everyone around here gets a kick out of it, so what the hell..

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

OK guys... Been driving the truck,, a lot. Cracked a flexplate so while we were down we took out the wild stall converter. Man, did that wake it up. It is a blast to drive now. So, the wife and i were discussing it, and we have plans. Hope you guys like the way we are going to go so stick around..

Has anyone bought bumpers from Summit?? The prices are about the same but they only charge $8.00 to ship them. I think they are Goodmark.

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

Big block is gone. We are putting an ultra mild small block in its place. I want to drive it and enjoy it more. Anyone need a good deal on some stainless steel headers for a big block?? Have started ordering and picking up parts here and there, should have some new motor pics next week.

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

OK, I know it aint "next week" but I am finally making some headway. Business has been good so I hated to quit making money to spend it. Anyway, I am caught up for a couple of days, the wife is at work and I had all kinds of new parts laying around. It is getting closer....

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

The engine looks real nice.
If I may give you some safety advice, it would be in your best interest to get rid of that plastic fuel filter and go to an all metal filter because those plastic ones are known to leak and cause fires and I know you don't want your ride to go up in flames, or even blow up, also when you mount your filter it should be hard mounted in a bracket to keep it from vibrating against another hard surface, the top of the inner fender is a good place.

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

Hey Brian. Thanks for the concern for our truck. We don't use the clear plastic filters, just using this one to help see if the fuel system suffered any corrosion issues the 3 plus months it sat idle. That will be the first thing replaced after initial run in. Thanks again, Fred.

Re: project "Cheap Bastard" 70 short wide..

OK, back on it again. Hopefully, we will hear it run this morning. Have had lots going on but I decided to make a concentrated effort to stay on it till it runs. Most of the delays were of my own doing and the truck aint going anywhere, but it is getting good and warm and I love cruising around in the heat with the windows rolled down and sweating my ass off. I know, odd.. Wish us luck...

It is running again. After a four month engine swap, it starts again. Now I just have to do all that detail stuff I so despise..

Congrats.... I am waiting for my block to come back from the machine shop so I can finish rebuilding it and drop it between the rails.
