trouble with new radiator fitment

I suppose I should of measured the old compared to the new, but the new radiator I put in doesnt fit the mounts as it should.
I found there are 2 different size sets of the rubber "bushings" for the top and bottom and think that might be what I need. The problem Im having is if I try and put any bushing in the top, the upper radiator mount plate/cover doesnt line up correctly. It fits maybe a half an inch high. So what I had to do is not install the upper bushings for now.
Is it possible I have one for a big block? How can I tell the difference?

How many cores is the new radiator? 4 core radiators have different mounts and bushings.

Re: trouble with new radiator fitment

I found this out the hardway, i ordered a nice 3 core aluminum radiator for my 77, and it was an inch to high. what i ended up doing was using upper mounts from a 72 C10 to mount it. i can't verify if a hood will close with these as i am not running one.

Yes its a 4 core. So do I need the big block radiator bushing then? And I guess I need to search for the new mounts.
