More Questions again!!
Firstly will cutting out the factory seat frame weaken the floor? Secondly has anyone got photos of the installation of a rain gear wiper seat up for a 48-54 truck? I have got a heap of stuff from Tuckers and it seems as my truck was a Australian body a lot of it is more different then I expected. So far the hinges are totally different. Now installing the Rain gear kit it seems the wipers must be different firstly I had to make the holes bigger for the wiper asm and the chrome bezel doesn't fit either. Now it seems that the wiper kit doesnt fit. It is like the arms under the dash are to long? or maybe I am just a little slow?? Thanks Shane

Can't answer the second question but yes removing the seat riser weakens the floor. You need to weld a channel under the floor to compensate and keep the floor from flexing.

To add to Daves comments those risers keep the steps and lower door frames from moving inward or spreading. IF you need to take them out, get the doors aligned then add bracing to keep the rest of the cab in place while you redo the floor. If you want a flat floor, make a square tube frame underneath. Even with the newer seats I used the stock mounting positions, figured GM put millions into engineering these and no need to second guess them.

Ok, I'm Confused. How does taking the seat riser out weaken the cab on an AD series truck ? The front part is just sheet metal spot welded to the floor. I understand there might be a problem if you removed the brace in front of the gas tank that goes between the back edges of the door frame

I've run mine without that piece in it for several hundred thousand miles and didn't notice a difference but do plan to add some bracing under the cab this time. I have seen several comments around the net that you should leave the piece that crosses between the sides of the cab at the back of the seat in as it adds support to the floor for the cab mounts and plan to leave that one in this time.
