Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
Where did he shorten the frame at? Doesn't look like the cab came off, but could be just me.

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
Wow good eye. The cab did not come off. He moved the trailing arms forward and took the 12" out right behind the cab.

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
Nice. Never saw this thread until now. He did my truck 2 years back and I beat the **** out of it and it's going great. He fixed so many extra things on my truck for free to. Glad to see your happy with how he did.

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
At the time I didn't have a nice welder to be able to do the work he did for me. But now that I have one I know I could do it myself if I wanted to. Nonetheless the guy has done 20+ of the trucks so its good to know he did it. |

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
Your truck looks great. Progress is gonna be slow on my truck for a while. Staring the body work, unfortunately im shaving the molding off the truck. New trim is just out of my budgrt right now. So im gonna get it all smoothed out and shoot some primer on it. Lots of welding grinding and sanding. Fun times. Got a shot of my new wheels on it.

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
3/5 drop. Ill probly cut my front coils and order the drop coils for the rear. Ive heard you need an adjustable panhard bar but have also heard you dont. And that front stock shocks work for 5 inch.rear drop. Any info or input would.be great. And as always thank you for replies.

Re: 72 Shortbed conversion
And just fyi to anyone wanting to run mustang wheels on your truck, in addition to the adapters, the center bore will need to be enlarged to fit over the front hub. Getting the fronts machined on monday. If you can get em cheap enough i still think its worth all the hassle.

Been working alot lately so progress has been very slow. Got the front dropped and wheels put on. Still alot of body work needing to be done.
