Need Help with aft door gap

I am trying to install my rocker panels and am having difficulty. I have a 1/2 inch gap at the aft end of both doors. The gap is consistent from top to bottom so I am wondering what to do?

Do I shim the door 3/8" of an inch or is there some other trick?

Looking down on the aft door pillar, it appears that the pillar is not perpindicular to the floor pans. I feel like I should try and make this perpindicular and the door gap will be corrected as well. How would I do this? Should I mechanically move it and then weld. I feel this would put a lot of stress on the rocker.

I have already made all the adjustments I can on the door hinges. I have replaced the lower pillars F/R, outer floor pans, kick panels, and cab corners.

Any help and experience appreciated.

I have been looking at a lot of build threads and am wondering if I should have fit the rocker and then the cab corner? Attached is a pic showing gap measurement.

Maybe it's an illusion, but looking at the picture of the aft door jamb and rocker panel (door open)- It looks like there is a wide gap between the cab corner and outer rocker panel. If so, this might be your issue. There should be little to no gap in that area.
Unfortunately, the state of repop parts is such that either the corner or the rocker or both need to be sliced, massaged and tweeked to fit with the factory doors and pillars.

Kinda seems to me that your 'A' pillar/firewall is sagged.
If you were to lift it up, the gap at the back of the door would close up and then you could lower the door to line up with the cab corner.

That looks like a sprung cab back panel. When the rockers and corners go the back panel can pull the outer edge of the B pillar back. When you do the corners, mounts and rockers you have to make sure you pull it back then. I made up a lever that I attached to the B Pillar to lever it all back forward during the rebuild. If you don't get it before it's all welded back together you'll be stuck with it.

I found it easiest to fit my cab corner and my rocker at the same time. In order to get everything to fit I had to modify my rocker and the cab corner. The corner was actually so crooked that I had to widen it about 1" on the bottom so that I would have no gap. I used a small piece of sheet to fill the gap. Ill get some pics on the weekend, its still in progress but it looks like its coming along.

For the record, I am no expert. This is my first truck!

Did you check the gap with the original door? I have seen many cabs with that large of a gap wright out of the gate. Meaning from the factory. WES

Any pictures of that home made lever and pictures of it in use or description of how you accomplish pulling pillars back. Thanks

If you wouldn't mind taking a few more pictures of the front gap to the fender with the door closed and one of the rocker area with the door open. From the little bit of the windshield pillar you can see in the first picture it looks like the gap is really tight? it could be the picture.

I would guess that something moved on you when you did the lower pillar and kick panel area. Did you have it gusseted or something welded in place to secure the door opening?
