Lowered 67 without drop spindles

Hello all. I don't post that much on the forum because honestly every question or issue can be found on here. That aside, i am getting ready for my build and had a few questions.

My 67 currently has cut front coils and blocks on the rears. This is way to low for me. Previous owners messed around with it and this is the result.

I don't want to change to disc brakes, just going to keep the 6 lug drums.

I have looked on the forum for drum only lowered coil springs trucks but have yet to find one. Can someone post there coil only lowered trucks?

Let me know who you used for the springs.

Early classic? Performance online?

I think i read on here people are using 60's era front springs from chevelles and even mustangs.

Thanks for the help, just want to know what the best option is for a 6 lug drum brake set up ... Most likely a 2 /4 drop.

Thank you.

Pic of my trucks current stance with the blocks. I know i know people like it this low, but it drags on everything. Haha

and pic of the rims i got for the the truck. Eagle alloy.

Call ECE.
They know these trucks.
A 2/4 is going to raise it quite a bit.
I would do a disc brake swap and drop spindles, myself.

The rear coils look like they have been torched to lower them.
The ride has to be crappy.
A properly lowered truck will ride nice.

You also need quality shocks, and front sway bar to enhance your 2/4 "spring only" drop.

They might be torched in the back.. There are 2 inch blocks back there for sure.

Raising the truck up is fine by me. I don't like mowing my lawn with my exhaust every time i leave my house. Haha

I wish I could have your truck!!!! I love the patina. Its perfect. But I also love restored trucks too. Gotta love that fresh paint. If mine was in that good of shape it would stay as is. I'm planning on a 2/4 or 3/4 drop my self. And keeping the drums.

Re: Lowered 67 without drop spindles

I like the patina look as well..however, i don't like the 6, 3 on each side, miss matched paint rings on the sides of bed. Previous owner had bed tie downs there for many many years. So patina look is kinda shot.

will see.. I might find some tie downs back on there...

Re: Lowered 67 without drop spindles

I don't recommend car springs in front: I've been there done that, lighter spring rates = a squirrely front end that jumps around on bumps.

You can go 2" springs on the front, which will affect alignment. I would recommend ECE springs .
Or, there's 3" jdm drop arms for drums you can find on craigs or e-bay, these will not change your alignment.
I don't recommend buying new drop arms because they are pricey. I was able to get mine for $160 used on craigs.

For the rear drop, I would also recommend ECE drop springs.
