Yeah, most people would have just stabbed another cam in there and got moving, but it was just the fire I needed to take the plunge.

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

I put Tim to work! He says he doesn't photograph very well. What do you guys think?

Got the frame ready to be beautified. That front crossmember weighed about 50 lbs. more than it should due to the oil/dirt/grease caked on it!

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

You're right Tim, I am done with the heat. It finally broke me lol. That and the rain makes me want to sleep.

Jake, glad you got it painted. Did you post pics? I need to check it out. GTG's went by the wayside, but maybe we should start them back up.

As mahanian said, I finally made a decision, but was going to wait until I had parts in to update. Going w/the new Porterbuilt touring dropmember/mild notch/trailing arm setup but w/bags instead of coilovers. It took a lot for me to pull the trigger, and I hope I don't regret it! I'm the world's worst when it comes to making decisions, especially when those decisions involve money.

Got my SPA turbo exhaust manifold in a couple of weeks ago. Still gotta figure out what all needs to be done to prep this 292 for a little forced induction.

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

Well I changed my mind AGAIN. Decided to go with the coil-overs instead of bags. My air bag setup will go on the burb. Since I hope to drive this truck a lot, I wanted to simplify things. Less things to break, you know?
Dave said my PB stuff should be ready sometime next week. So I'm excited to at least be close to getting that stuff.

I have done nothing else with her b/c I've been slammed at school. Weather seems to finally be cooling off, so I hope to get some time to go twist some wrenches soon!

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

Making some progress. Got the PB stuff all powdercoated (it's still in boxes, so no pics yet.) Sand blasted the frame this week and will be painting it this weekend.

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

A little update. Got the rear end done. Changed to 3.73 Eaton posi.
Frame is painted with Summit's Chassis Shield. Seems to be pretty tough, but only time will tell! Working on getting the frame/suspension back together. Ordered D52 calipers for the front, think I am going to stay with drums on the rear. Here's some pics:

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

You probably won't be able to use the stock Z-bar location if you are going to run a TKO or other aftermarket transmission so you can remove this bracket if you haven't already

Thanks guys. Jared, I left the bracket on b/c I still haven't decided what transmission I'm going to use.

Re: Here goes Project: PEARL

More pics. Getting close to being a roller. Think I'm going to have to trim some of the support on the front upper control arms. It's going to hit the adjustment knob on the coilovers. (I had those arms set up for bags before I decided to go coilover.)

Not at this point. I don't plan on it being too crazy. I just want it to be something I can hot rod in around town.
