Re: Dually Fender Bolts
Bolts are 5/16" coarse thread , about 5/8" out of hole
I can't imagine trusting them glued on, but I guess you could , today's epoxies are heavy duty enough to hold it. Desert |

Re: Dually Fender Bolts
I was wondering if anybody had to replace any I have a few that have come completly out of the fiberglass and need to be replaced.
Any thoughts? Would you epoxy a hanger bolt? Look to GM for a part number? Epoxy in a piece of all thread? |

Re: Dually Fender Bolts
Desert, that bolt looks brand new! How/where did you find a fender in that condition?
Has anyone figured out what kind of gasket/seam sealer is used to attach the fender to the bedside? |

Re: Dually Fender Bolts
One of the fenders i used on my truck came from Iowa and it had a bunch of bolts rusted off and some that the glass was busted on. I was able to get the broken bolts out, they are a coarse thread like a lag bolt where they screw into the glass at. I went to the local hardware store and found some studs that were lag thread on one end and fine thread on the other. I then used some panel bond inside the fiberglass holes before i screwed the stud in.
Worked great.

Re: Dually Fender Bolts
Not a big deal, I have been wondering how to repair mine for awhile and was just throwing some concepts out there to see what everybody has done?

Re: Dually Fender Bolts
Now my question is, do you use the seam sealer before or after you paint the fender?

But after saying that, I have seen a repainted truck where the fenders were painted separately, then mounted , It looked OK also. Desert |
