Carburetor question

Hey guys, I am in the market for a carb.. my truck is set up for manual choke and I am running the stock wire harness, but I'm finding good carbs with auto choke..

Would it be hard to install that? is it even possible?? Sorry if it's a dumb question..

Re: Carburetor question

It's easy - just have to run power to the choke.

Re: Carburetor question

Yup, super easy. 12V to the choke, and you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

Re: Carburetor question

The guys are referring to carbs with electric chokes. Some of the older carbs had hot air chokes. They pretty well need to be matched up with the manifold.

Re: Carburetor question

It should match my motor.. I'm running a 350 with camel hump heads and a pretty beefy cam.. and I Edelbrock high rise manifold

Re: Carburetor question

Go for the electric choke for sure. Don't need anything fancy to run it but will be a big upgrade.

Re: Carburetor question

I love manual chokes. Reliable for decades. I know when choke is open. Fast idle manual choke cam is a plus.

Re: Carburetor question

New is always a good condition. Especially on a nice engine like that.

For what it's worth... I have completely removed every choke out of every carb I have ever had. Chokes suck.
