74 K10 Radiator Core Install?

I am doing a frame off restoration and have all the parts painted and the doors hung. The cab is sitting on new polyurethane bushings but the front end is not sitting right.
How are you guys aligning the radiator support?
I have new bolts and polyurethane bushings on it but the rest of the parts are not looking real good.
I have zero shims in anything at this point and I don't want to open the doors and mess up the paint job.The gap is tight and it is also tight at the top corner above were the hod hinges would go next to the windshield.
Is there any safe starting point on adding shims?
Are you cinching down the radiator support first or leaving everything loose?
Any help is appreciated.

Front sheet metal alignments starts with the doors. If the doors are good, install the fenders. Afterwards, install the radiator support followed by the hood. Shim where necessary to get it all aligned. Usually the fender bolt near the cab uses several shims.

The doors are perfect with all new rubber around them as well.
So go to the fenders next and the inner wheel wells or leave them off for now?

Do one fender with wheel well attached. Then radiator support. Then the other fender. Try to squeeze the radiator support in between the fenders is not easy. Leave stuff loose and snug. Take your time aligning parts. The hood is the final piece that can annoy you!!

Re: 74 K10 Radiator Core Install?

Thanks for the help.
I am also already annoyed so the hood shouldn't bother me.
I don't have any shims in the wheel to cab mount but remember there being quite a few in that one spot.
My biggest issue is the gap between the door and front fenders is a little tight.I don't want to open a door and chip the paint.
The radiator support is loose but the fenders don't seem to want to move forward.
I am headed to my workshop right now and will give it another try.
