E-Fan on my 78

Recommendations? i found a place on ebay that is pretty good priced and seems to pull good CFM for the motor. is there any junkyard fans i can pull from another truck or anything that would get rid of my clutch fan??

Re: E-Fan on my 78

Taurus fans are good for cheap swaps, and there are many others depending on how you want to do it. Take a tape measure.

I am using a Volvo 850 turbo electric fan for my truck, and runs great. I got 2 just in case.

Re: E-Fan on my 78

I'm using Windstar dual fans. Fits the 86 radiator perfect, with some trimming of the plastic.

Re: E-Fan on my 78

for the grand cherokees did you pull from the V8s or will a 4.0 fan work just as well? i never thought of just seraching the CFMs on stock vehicles. my local yards are pretty good with jeeps and what not

Re: E-Fan on my 78

Taurus fan works great..2 speed, presently only using the low speed. Someday when I complete the a/c I will have the high speed for that.

Re: E-Fan on my 78

Had a full sized Bronco with a 5.7 Lightning engine. A Taurus SHO electric fan from the junkyard kept it happy and cool.

The big ugly stock shroud allows the fan to pull air through the entire radiator core allowing the complete radiator to do its job efficiently.

BTW, I like the fit of that fan!!

lol The electric fan has it's own shroud. Mounting it inside the truck shroud may actually reduce efficiency. Look how much of the opening is blocked now.

Re: E-Fan on my 78

If you say so.
Keeps my 406 cool enough.
And no the Cherokee fan had a shroud that was half the size of my radiator.

Maybe you could be more helpful next time...
