to only pay havein the driveshaft done one time it is best for you to measure for yourself a few times to make sure of what you need

Re: Drive shaft length for 700r ?

Definitely measure yourself. If its a 2 piece you would want to measure from the center of the 2 bolts that hold the center bearing to the tip of the output shaft at ride height. If 1 piece measure from the tip of the output shaft to the flats of the yoke. Some shops like to measure from the end of the tail shaft instead of the shaft itself minus the seal but either way would work as long as they know wht you measured, just make a note of how much shaft stick out you have out of the tail shaft just in case they want to know, mine was like 3/4 inch.

What they said. If 2 piece take them both pieces so they can ballance your shaft as an assembly.

I build driveshafts, good to see my advice is sinking in with the locals

PIctures or diagram would help big time. As I am getting ready to put a 700r4 myself.

When I installed a 700r4 the engine was moved forward 1.75" so as to avoid cutting the drive shafts. This was in a 4x4 though. Can you just move the engine mounts?

Re: Drive shaft length for 700r ?

Yes I can. My motor is sitting on the back mounts right now. More than likely. I'm going to measure once its all done just to avoid any issues. I was thinking of getting it cut before if it was a set or exact amount every time.
