250 L6 exhaust manifold question

Do all Inline 6 exhaust manifolds have an open top that bolts to the intake and Does anyone sell a cover plate to block this off? Currently running headers but am looking to switch back to stock exhaust with my offenhauser intake.

Thanks!

The big trucks have a gasket that covers the hole opening. You will probably have to make a plate to cover it.

Fel-Pro gasket set # MS 9786 includes a block-off gasket. I paid 8 bucks and change for the set at Advance Auto last week.

That's good to know, thanks! Is it standard gasket type material or is it plate? Seems like it would need something strong enough to block the hole, or does the exhaust bolt to the Offy like stock intake does? Not home today and haven't had a chance to look at it.

It's the metallic, perforated-looking material that you find in pretty much all factory-style exhaust gaskets, but one side is solid. It's not what you'd call a plate, though. We'll probably need pictures of the Offy.

Your offenhouser intake is made to bolt onto the stock exhaust system. There are no purchasable block off plates and if you don't bolt the intake to the exhaust you would have to hook up a water heating system. Offenhouser come from the factory from triple one barrels to a single four barrel, all are made to bolt to the stock exhaust or be used with haeders.
