Re: Preferred sway bars??
Sway bars are very use specific, tires, driving style/conditions, shocks, ride height, and spring rate all play a role in what sway bar would work the best.
That being said anything is better than nothing (unless you're playing offroad) and the 73-87 bar is cheap and popular upgrade. Posted via Mobile Device

Yea. I'm sure I can get it from porterbuilt when I get the dropmember. I was thinking what to use in the meantime.

Re: Preferred sway bars??
I have Hellwig on the front and rear of my GMC and man, .. I'm telling you. It's like night and day difference. I would highly recommend their stuff, .. or I like the Hotchkis rear setup too. It really gave the truck a 'planted' feel, and not harsh at all. I have a 5/7 (roughly) drop which looks about like what you have in your avatar.

Re: Preferred sway bars??
I also would like to hear some input on sway bars. I've heard that 73-up front bars work on 67-72, but I thought the ends on the newer bars use links and bushings. Will these actually fit on older trucks?

Re: Preferred sway bars??
73-87 front sway bars bolt right on. Your lower control arms are even drilled for them from the factory. See the sway bar FAQ for more pictures and descriptions.
