Attenna Mount

I'm trying to mount the antenna to the P/S cowl and am finding it impossible to get the new antenna mount to hold. I bought it from LMC (which I'll assumes gets them from a far east country) In the pictures below which show the "crown" for lack of the proper name, when I tighten the top nut which compresses the crown downward it deforms the gasket/bushing to where it slips off the crown.

In order to attempt a quick fix, I roughed up the bottom of the crown with a dremel tool and put some crazy glue to hold the gasket in place, I'l see how this works later.

Anyone else have this happen?

Re: Attenna Mount

Chinese stuff is junk, IMO-I ended up buying an American made repro antenna off EvilBay.

Re: Attenna Mount

I used some ACC glue kak "Crazy Glue" to hold the gasket in place. Came out OK, will look for a different mount later.

You woud lthink for $89.99 you'd get something better.

Re: Attenna Mount

x2 On Classic Parts

1. They're almost always cheaper than LMC. Classic wants $64.95 for a 60-62 antenna LMC wants $89.95 for a 60-62 antenna.
2. If you order online and use "Stovebolt" as a discount code you'll get 5% off
3. Classic Parts doesn't use those annoying packing peanuts.
