1978 GMC 3500 bushing kit

Have been looking and calling all over trying to find a complete bushing kit for my 78 2wd crew cab. I called energy suspension and they don't have all of the parts I need. Has anyone else restored their 3500 and run into the same problem? I'm ready to put her back together and would appreciate any part numbers, kits, etc. that are out there. ES rep. told me they have the front sway kit and the body kit but nothing else. ?????? Thought that of anyone they would have a kit or at least the parts. She is all stock and never had anything changed (I'm the second owner). I have a car show to attend in 2 months so I am in a bit of a rush. Thanks.

Have you looked in LMC? Pretty sure they have bushing kits for CCs. Not sure how good they are knowing most of their stuff is crap. worth a try though.

Try summit, that is where I got my poly control arm bushing kit for my 79 2wd, I got my body mounts from Classic Parts of America. LMC does carry them, but the price is a lot more then what you pay buying from summit.

Re: 1978 GMC 3500 bushing kit

Thanks for the replies. It looks as though I will have to piece it together and use generic fit components from ES. Not sure why they don't have a package for the 3500's. Most likely it is due to most people dropping and bagging them instead of restoring them. I stay away from LMC as I have had nothing but bad luck with them. When I get all of this put together I will post a parts list for other people so they won't have to go through the same garbage for a full off restoration. I am putting in a new nv4500 and customizing the truck all the way around. It came from the dealer with an LS6 so doing this one right is key. I've owned the truck for 13 years now and felt it was time to rebuild her and make her better than she was new so the bushing upgrade is a must. I have been restoring cars for over 20 years and don't cut any corners. Never had an unhappy customer. I think hunting parts is my biggest beef with this whole business. And most of the time when you order a piece at a time something always gets screwed up. That was my intention with the original post. Thanks again guys!

One tons do have bushings. Thing is, they're steel and not rubber (or poly). Rockauto will have them in whatever brand your wallet desires to buy.
