Best clutch kit?
Hiya. Clutch went out on my GMC 2500 (350/4spd) and the guy at the local parts counter is saying that "Luks" (spelling?) is a good brand. I told him I occasionally pull stumps etc. and smoke the clutch and he just said "well that will void the warranty if there is heat damage".
I don't give a rat's rear about warranty, I just don't want to have to do this again any time soon. My left knee isn't 100% exactly so there is that concern too. If I just drive it regular (no stump etc. pulling) will this Luks be a good choice? Thanks. Brian

Re: Best clutch kit?
I can't help too much because I am essentially looking for the same information. I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing. I have the same setup but I would like to go to the 12" and I think I would need a new flywheel. I just don't know what starter I will need with a bigger flywheel. One nightmare leads to another and my little brain is just not computing.

Re: Best clutch kit?
Luks is a good brand of clutch in my experience. I have one in my truck now, no issues but its still brand new. Check with NAPA, I believe the house brand clutch there is a rebranded Luks or at least used to be.

Re: Best clutch kit?
Great, Thanks a lot guys. $102 for the 4 piece kit and comes with a plactic alignment tool.
Now to look in there. It failed at very high RPMs (for this truck, maybe 5G+). Brian

Re: Best clutch kit?
I've had good service and quality parts from Clutch Masters in Rialto Ca for many years. Most people see there advertising in small car and racing mags, but they supply clutches for light truck, medium duty and heavy duty trucks also.
