If the block is otherwise good, why not have it line honed? Finding another block that is perfectly straight is going to be hit and miss.

If you're set on finding another block, try and get a '96-'02 Vortec block. That way you can run the factory style roller cam, which is a bit cheaper than a retrofit roller cam.

Cap,
He gave me that option. He also said he'd have to bore it 60 over. The owner said he had another block that had already been decked, bored 20 over and was pretty much ready to go. Charged me 200 bucks for the block. I ll put the original L48 back together as I have all the parts and either keep it as a backup or sell it on Craigslist.
