That's Ford Blue! The Valve Covers should be black as well as the timing cover. How about going a few shades darker on the blue?

No it's an actual gm corporate blue. I accidentally bought ford blue once and it was quite an odd blue. I had to use some acid and holy water and get it off quickly

Re: What's your opinion on my engine color?

Hmmm... Hard to tell. What kind of headers/manifolds are you going with? Most of the time after you slap them babies on stuff starts to flow a little better.

Black headers would look nice in my opinion. If you have the coin, march performance brackets with black pulleys will be all you need!

Re: What's your opinion on my engine color?

It looks way too blue in that pic but once all the accessories are added it won't look too blue. Some added detail on the valve covers would break it up more too. I wouldn't add any more blue though.

Re: What's your opinion on my engine color?

Yah I will either do black silver or charcoal for headers. Or plain rust color lol.

I like it!....some ceramic coated headers and a aluminum water pump, and call it done.

Re: What's your opinion on my engine color?

I've always followed the simple rule of heads and block one color, intake either silver or black, and valve covers almost always black.

My favorite combo for blue: blue block and heads, silver intake, black valve covers and black exhaust manifold, with cast iron gray brackets, blue water neck, and a wrinkle black air cleaner

Chrome is like a spice, you don't want to rely on it to make the dish, but a dash here and there makes a good recipe better. True story.

Re: What's your opinion on my engine color?

It is going to look good. I have those same valve covers. When we did the engine in my 79 Z28 I thought the blue was too much. After adding back all the accessories and such it was just right. It is going to look good. Keep on.
