Where does the jack mount on 69 C10
This is my first thread on this site, just joined the group. I just purchased a 69 C10 a week ago and am wondeing what type of jack is suppose to come with the truck and where does the jack mount on the truck for stowage. I won't be using the jack unless it is the screw type jack, and also where does the spare tire mount? To head it off at the pass the particulars on the truck is that it was restored by Jerry Rook of Thomasville,NC who does national show car winners. It has a 350 4BBL Quadrajet engine with 55, 663 original miles and I am the second owner. It has a straight gear trannie. I have a jack that came out of a 87 Silverado 20 which is the screw type jack and it mounted under the hood on top of the right side fender well, and am hoping this jack will pass for original equipment for the 69. I know there are those here on this site that can help me with the jack question and spare tire question. Thanks ya'll! Now if I can just get Haggerty to answer up on getting the truck insured. I also have a 59 Impala Convertible 348 tri power being restored by Jerry Rook and my first restoration and original owner of a 1967 Dodge Charger generally referred to as "Ole Red" that was restored in 2001. Being retired has it's rewards

Nice truck!
Welcome to the group from West Michigan. The jack is held in place in the floor on the passengers side. There should be a bracket and spring to hold the small screw jack in place. The jack handle and wrench are stowed in a bag and clipped into the cab corner by a stiff spring. Spare tires were stowed under the rear of the bed, or on a bracket inside the bed. I don't carry a spare unless going on a long trip and then I just toss it in the bed. Jim |

Don, welcome to the board from snowey (?!!!??) central Ohio.
Your jack will not pass as a stock unit, however, it will hold the truck, which is all that really matters. Your tire would have either gone under the bed in back, upright in the bed with a beam of sorts bolted to the inside of the bed, or just tossed into the bed. |

I think these trucks are the only classics where you can actually find the original jack still in there, could be because it was semi worthless for these trucks.
![]() Hey there Jim, I own a couple houses in Muskegon, interesting city.
