Stereo
Ok I'm at the point of installing a stereo in my 1949 3100. I've got the head unit hidden in the dash behind the speaker grill. Now I'm trying to figure out where to mount the speakers and what kind. Any thoughts and or pictures would be appreciated.

Re: Stereo
kick panels are the best location for a stock truck
if your truck is modified then door panels can be made to hold a second set of speakers look in my build for how easy these were to make

Re: Stereo
I'm putting in the kick panels with the upgraded Pioneer speakers along with 6x9 Rockford Fosgates that will go in the cab corners.

Are you using the iMc kick panels or something you made up ? For the rear speakers are you building individual boxes for the corners or a full witdth box with a sub ? Thanks. Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by nvrdone; 06-25-2013 at 09:35 AM. |

Re: Stereo
I wanted to totally hide mine.
I put my head unit under the seat with the face coming out by my feet. 2 speakers in the stock location. 6 x 9's behind the seat in custom boxes. Sub and amp under the seat. |

Re: Stereo
Ok, we'll after a days work the stereo is in and it rocks !!
The head unit is a Kenwood that my wife got me for Father's Day. I mounted a pair of 6" Sony coax speakers in the doors. Then I cut a piece of 3/4 " plywood to mount at an angle behind the seat ( the tank is gone ). I mounted the 6x9 pioneers at each end in the curve of the cab. It sounds really good. The only problem is the pipes are still louder than the stereo. now to add an amp and sub...... Posted via Mobile Device |
